Food Security

Sagamok Naandwedjige-Gamik’s Social Program oversees the delivery of a number of services such as the Food Bank, Milk Program, School Breakfast Club and Balanced Day. These services support the needs for adequate nutrition for the community members.

 

 

Sagamok's Nutrition Hub is located at the Multi Educational Center on the main floor on the south side of the building.  .

 

Biidaaban Kinoomaagegamik Breakfast Club 

 

The Breakfast Club  & Balanced Day programs is offered to students of Biidaaban Kinoomaagegamik, providing snacks, lunch and milk during school days. Breakfast is offered to student in their classroom settings at 8:20 a.m. Through the Balanced Day Program, students are served a snack at 10:15 a.m. and a lunch at 12:30 p.m.

 

 

Sagamok Food Bank                     

 

The Food Bank supports many of our community residents in meeting their nutrition needs as well as the Milk Program which sees the distribution of milk to families and Elders in the Sagamok community.

 

The Sagamok Food Bank is open to the public Wednesdays from 1:30 p.m to 4:30 p.m. and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Sagamok Milk Program is open to the public Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

 

 

Community Kitchen (Monthly)                     

 

Niigaaniin Ontario Works hosts a monthly Community Kitchen from their offices located at 575 Sagamok Road on the third Friday of each month.  

 

 

Meals on Wheels                     

 

The Elders' Eagle Lodge delivers the Meals on Wheels program for community members.
