The Sagamok Anishnawbek Membership Office administers the Membership & Estates and Indian Registration.    


Location:     The Sagamok Anishnawbek Membership Office is located in the main Band Office Administration building located at 4007 Espaniel Street. 

Hours of Operation:       Mon to Fri 10:00am - 4:00pm


Rhea Assinewe is Sagamok Anishnawbek's Membership and Estates Coordinator.  She can be reached in person during regular office hours at the Membership Office, by calling (705) 865-2421 ext.256.  Faxes may be sent to (705) 865-3307.



Provides services and assistance with the registration system of all issues pertaining to membership

Responsible for the implementation of the Membership Code (works with the Membership Authority)

Informs community leadership of current and evolving Indian status changes and membership issues

Maintains updated population statistics

Provides assistance, supplies forms, provides guidance for filling out applications and offers assistance in the following matters:

  • Registration under the Indian Act for:
    • Minor Child
    • Adult
  • Sagamok Anishnawbek Membership Applications
  • First Nation Band Membership Transfers
  • Treaty Annuities
  • Application for Certificate of Exemption for First Nation Individuals – Gasoline Tax Act
  • Wills and Estates
  • Power of Attorney for Property and Personal Care
